Long Weekend Dreams?
What could be better than a few days fishing the crystal clear waters of lakes Te Anau and Manapouri, and the Upper Waiau River? Te Anau Fishing at its best!
The Stabicraft Te Anau Manapouri Fishing Classic, held every Labour Weekend, is the perfect opportunity to soak up majestic views of Fiordland and the Te Anau Basin.
You can picture the serenity. Cast a line from shore, or bring the boat to get right out into the middle one of the beautiful lakes.
It is a fishing competition for the whole family - adult, junior (12-17 years) and child (11 and under) anglers lining up to catch a fish. There’s also a category that gives kids a chance to learn to fish with the Cruise Milford Take a Kid Fishing competition held at the picturesque McGregor Pond.
And of course every adult who catches a fish goes into the draw to win the grand prize of a Stabicraft boat (more details to follow)
ON THE DAY
On the day entries and registrations are at the Te Anau Rugby Club:
Friday 25 October: 2pm - 9pm
Saturday 26 October: 7am - 2pm
As we work our way towards reducing paper at the event, there will be no paper entry forms for the 2024 event. Online entries only at registration on Friday and Saturday. You can do this from your own device, or the ones that we will have available. For those that are unable to do this, staff will be available to assist.
To save time at registration we recommend you have entered online and if a skipper, have filled in the "2min Skipper form" before heading along to the Rugby Club rooms, this will ensure you will just need to pick up your weigh card and get checked off.

NO entries taken after 2pm on Saturday (so no entries on Sunday 27 October).
NO registrations available at Manapouri again this year.
ALL participants MUST register prior to commencing fishing. Failing to register makes you ineligible for any prizes.
Weigh In:
Te Anau Rugby Club:, Friday 25 October: 6pm - 7pm
Saturday 26 October: 4pm – 8pm
Sunday 27 October: 11am – 2pm
Last year we trialed a new App that allowed you to catch & release the fish that you need to be in the draw for the boat. We will be encouraging you to download and use this App again this year. It saves you from having to come into the weigh-in station (noting that you are still be able to weigh in your fish if you wish – particularly if it’s a goodie!). Details of when the App is up and ready to go will be posted on our Facebook page and website.
