WIN this Stabicraft Boat by entering the 2020 Stabicraft Southern Te Anau Manapouri Fishing Classic
The Te Anau Manapouri Fishing Classic is a major fishing competition in Fiordland held annually over Labour Weekend.
2020 will be the 13th year for the Stabicraft Te Anau Manapouri Fishing Classic and the event is run over the two lakes, Te Anau and Manapouri as well as the Upper Waiau River. The major prize is a Stabicraft 1550 Fisher with a 4 stroke 5-hp Yamaha outboard and trailer package. There are also many other great prizes on offer. For full rules see the Fishing Tournament Rules.
The 2020 event has many sponsors but we would like to make special mention of Stabicraft Southern, Yamaha and Navico for the major sponsorship of the boat that is the main prize. Click here to see our 2019 sponsors.
Entries & Registration Fishing Classic
The competition runs from 2pm on the Friday and concludes at 2pm on the Sunday with prize giving at 3pm.
Friday 23rd October: 2pm – 9pm at Te Anau Rugby Club
Saturday 24th October: 7am – 2pm at Te Anau Rugby Club
Note: There will be NO registration at Manapouri Lakeview Motor Inn this year.
Earlybird entries, (prior to the 31st of August), shall be rewarded with a double ticket, meaning that if they catch a fish they will receive two entries into the Top 5 Barrel Draw. Note: only one fish required and Junior and Child Lake entries are not eligible for the barrel draw.

Please note there will be no entries taken after 2pm on Saturday (so no entries taken on Sunday 25th October).
Registration (weigh in card and information pick up) will still be open for online entries after this time but only during weigh in.
Fishing for all!
This really is a fishing competition for the whole family. With both individual and family entries, both adult and child anglers stand an equal chance of catching a fish in either Lakes Te Anau or Manapouri and the upper Waiau River.
Cruise Milford 2020 Take a Kid Fishing (run in conjunction with the Fishing Classic but is a separate competition)

The competition runs from 7:30am to 6pm on Saturday with the with prize giving at 2pm Sunday.
Friday 23rd October: 2pm – 9pm at Te Anau Rugby Club
Saturday 24th October: 9am – 4pm at McGregors Pond
Please note Take a Kid Fishing is on the Saturday only this year and no kids rods will be given away.

Entry fees
Pre entries cost $15.00 for children at the Take a Kid Fishing. On the day (Friday and Saturday) $20.00.
The individual event entry fees are:

Early Bird $35 up till 31 August 2020
Regular $40 1 September - 5pm 22 October (note online entries will finish on the 22nd October at 5pm)
On the Day $45 Friday 23 and Saturday 25
Junior Licence Holder - Online Entry $15.00, Friday and Saturday Entry $20.00
Child Licence Holder- Online Entry $15.00, Friday and Saturday Entry $20.00
Families are automatic with individual entries (must be 1 or 2 adults with 2 or more children)

Didymo is present, even if it’s not visible, in Lakes Te Anau and Manapouri.
Most of the western tributaries are Didymo free.
Trips should start at the highest point and work their way downstream.
Cleaning kits are available the DOC Fiordland Visitor’s Centre.
