Fiordland Mid-Winter Ball
Come along and help Te Anau Events and a passionate group of locals who have donated their time to create and celebrate the Shortest Day and the Longest Night!
The Fiordland Mid Winter Ball will be an elegant and festive event held on the longest night, Friday 21st June 2024. We hope that guests will dress to impress in formal attire, to add a touch of sophistication to the atmosphere. Attendees will enjoy a memorable dining experience from MASH Catering with a menu featuring gourmet dishes and decadent desserts. Live music from Invercargill’s “The Yardmen” will top the night off!
Local photographer Megan Graham will be there too to help us remember our night out.
We will be using the event to fundraise for the Te Anau Primary School Hall project - some great prizes like this prize from RealNZ of a Walter Peak Gourmet Dining for 4 adults. Some very generous businesses have donated prizes so far and we are so grateful,
We hope the event is a huge success and raises significant funds for the school project. It's events like these that truly showcase the strength and camaraderie of our local community
The longest night and shortest day occur during the winter solstice. This astronomical event marks the moment when the North Pole is tilted furthest away from the sun, resulting in the shortest period of daylight and the longest night of the year. The Fiordland Mid Winter Ball is a chance to get your friends together or for workplaces to celebrate staff and or clients with a mid winter function or just an excuse to put those heels on and have a dance.
