William Wood en Plein Air - Connecting Art with Nature

William Wood en Plein Air - Connecting Art with Nature

Event Date:
Friday, February 26, 2021
Fiordland National Park Visitor Centre
fb Event Summary:
Join artist William Wood for a public talk on connecting to the landscape through the art of looking and mark making. William gives us a behind-the-scenes look at what it's like to paint outside in the elements, live in Milford Sound/Piopiotahi, and his encounters with nature. William's talk focuses on the importance of being present in the landscape and what can be learned by using oil painting as a vehicle to observation and recording, transcending experience through the brush onto panel or canvas. William has lived in Fiordland through the floods of 2020 and the COVID lockdown and will share how this affected his art. This event is part of our Fiordland events programme. https://www.facebook.com/events/421411485738166/
